(1) with +名詞+分詞短語
* One of the fluids flows through the outside pipe, the other through the inside pipe, with heat exchange taking place through the wall.
其中一種流體走外管，另ー流體走內(nèi)管，而熱交換通過管壁進(jìn)行。
(2) with +名詞+介詞短語
* The next mode shows two loops with one node in the middle.
第二種模式給出了兩個波腹，在其中點有ー個波節(jié)。
(3) with +名詞+形容詞/副詞
* The density of the air varies directly as pressure with temperature constant.
當(dāng)溫度不變時空氣的密度同壓カ成正比。
十八、without的譯法
without可以看作是with的反義詞，用法也相似。
1. 表示條件，既可以表示現(xiàn)實條件，也可表示虛擬條件，通?？勺g為“(如果）沒有”。 如：
Without that protein, the bacteria can't reproduce themselves, so they die.
沒有這種蛋白質(zhì)，細(xì)菌就不能繁殖，從而死亡。
2. 表示并列關(guān)系，可譯為“而不”。如：
* A catalyst changes the speed of a chemical reaction without entering into it.
催化劑改變化學(xué)反應(yīng)的速度，而不參與反應(yīng)。
3. 表示行為方式，通?？勺g為副詞“地”字結(jié)構(gòu)，或翻譯時靈活處理。如：
* It is necessary to move information among the registers without restriction.
寄存器之間必須能自由地傳遞信息。
