十六、under的譯法
1. 表示位置，可譯為“在……下（面)”等。如：
* About a minute later, the sound is picked up by a microphone suspended under the receiving ship.
約一分鐘后，吊在接收船下的傳聲器收聽到這一聲音。
2. 表示依據(jù)，可譯為“根據(jù)”、“按照”等。如：
* Under the general theory of relativity, motion through time becomes very intimately related to motion through space.
根據(jù)廣義相對論，時間運動與空間運動兩者密切相關。
3. 表示過程、狀態(tài)，可譯為“在……中”、“在…期間”等。如：
* On a four-speed box the bearings are under load 25% of the time.
四檔變速箱的軸承有25%的時間受載。
十七、with的譯法
1. 表示兩種事物或人的相互關系，可譯為“與”、“和……一起”、“隨著”等。如:
Standard shanks can be used interchangeably with other reamer shell.
標準刀柄可與其他絞刀套互換使用。
2. 表示附著關系，可譯為“具有”、“帶有”等，也可以省譯。如：
* The chief problem with brush-type motors is the low reliability of the commutator- and-brush assembly.
電刷型電動機的主要問題是換向器-電刷組合體的可靠性低。（省譯了 with）
