(2) 分詞作條件狀語的譯法
分詞作狀語表示條件時，可以譯為條件狀語從句，漢譯時，加譯“如果”、“假如”?等。如：
* Left to its own devices, it runs on a cycle of around 25 hours.
如果順其自然，它將以25小時左右的周期運轉(zhuǎn)。
* Applying the law that action and reaction are equal and opposite, we see that the forces acting on a loaded beam are similar to the forces applied in breaking a stick.
如果我們應(yīng)用作用力與反作用力大小相等方向相反這一定律，就可以知道，施加在負(fù) 載橫梁上的力與用以折斷木杖的カ是相似的。
(3)分詞作原因狀語的譯法
分詞（多為現(xiàn)在分詞）作狀語表示原因可以譯為原因狀語從句，漢譯時，力“由于”、“因為”、“鑒子”等。如：
* Being special in structure, these compounds have a special property, namely the interfacial activity.
由于結(jié)構(gòu)特殊，這些化合物具有ー個特殊性質(zhì)，即界面活性。
* Knowing the strength, it is possible to work backward and determine what factor of safety was used.
由于知道其強度，便可以反過來求出所用的安全系數(shù)值。
(4) 分詞作讓步狀語的譯法
分詞作狀語表示讓步，在意義上相當(dāng)于讓步狀語從句，漢譯時，可加譯“雖然…… 但是”、“即使……也”、“盡管……但”等。如：
