英語中引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句的連詞有if，as (so) long as, as (so) far as, unless, in case, provided (providing) that, should, suppose (supposing) that, assuming (assume) that, on condition that, in the event that 等。
1. 前置法
英語中條件狀語從句的位置很靈活，既可位于句首，也可位于句尾。所謂的前置法就是按照漢語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣，將條件狀語從句譯在句首，并視情況使用漢語的關(guān)聯(lián)詞語。如：“如果”、“如果……就”、“倘若”、“只要……就”、“除非……才”等。如：
* If the casting has one completely flat surface, the pattern can be made in one piece.
如果鑄件有一個面是完全平的，模型就可以做成一個整體。
* Providing that we know the current and resistance, the voltage can be calculated.
如果我們知道了電流和電阻，那么就能求出電壓。
* While the blast-furnace is expected to remain the world's chief source of iron units steelmaking, as long as adequate supplies of suitable coking coal remain available at competitive cost.
只要焦煤充足且成本較低，高爐仍將是世界上主要的煉鐵設(shè)備。
2. 轉(zhuǎn)譯法
if引導(dǎo)的條件狀語從句漢譯時常?？梢赞D(zhuǎn)譯為時間狀語從句，譯為“當(dāng)……時” 并放在句首。如：
