英語(yǔ)的介詞主要有兩大類(lèi)，即單個(gè)介詞和介詞短語(yǔ)。就其語(yǔ)法功能而言，單個(gè)介詞和介詞短語(yǔ)是ー樣的。從宏觀(guān)上來(lái)講，介詞的譯法主要有以下三種：
一、直譯
直譯就是直接譯出介詞本身的意義。如：
* Installed in the ceiling of the facility are fully-controlled lights which play the role of the sun.
起到光照作用的全控?zé)舭惭b在這個(gè)設(shè)施的天花板內(nèi)。
* This controller system observes liquid level by means of a sensing plate.
這個(gè)控制系統(tǒng)通過(guò)一個(gè)感測(cè)板來(lái)觀(guān)測(cè)液面。
* The quality of any sensation depends upon the area of the cerebral cortex where the impulse arrives.
任何感覺(jué)的性質(zhì)都取決于脈沖所到達(dá)的大腦皮質(zhì)的部位。?
ニ、轉(zhuǎn)譯
許多介詞在翻譯時(shí)可以進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)譯。介詞的轉(zhuǎn)譯最常見(jiàn)的主要有以下幾種情況：
1. 轉(zhuǎn)譯為動(dòng)詞
介詞轉(zhuǎn)譯為動(dòng)詞是最常見(jiàn)的介詞轉(zhuǎn)譯現(xiàn)象。如：
* A polymer is a substance of high molecular weight, well above the size of the compounds considered so far.
聚合物是ー種高分子的物質(zhì)，其大小遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超出迄今所提到的各種化合物。
* A partial flange B is attached to the cylinder A，around which is wrapped a cord.
凸塊B固定在圓柱體A上，而圓柱體A上又纏繞著一根繩索。
* Warm-blooded creatures do not need to depend on the sun for body heat.
溫血?jiǎng)游锊恍枰蕾?lài)太陽(yáng)來(lái)獲得體溫。
