有時(shí)英語(yǔ)用介詞而漢語(yǔ)可不用介詞：
He made a living by fishing.
他打魚(yú)為生。
He grasped John by the collar.
他一把抓住約輪的衣領(lǐng)。
I'll surely let you know in three days.
我三天后一定給你回信。
He was still a child in 1962.
1962年，他還是個(gè)孩子。
We haven't corresponded for three years.
我們?nèi)隂](méi)有通信。

(三）中國(guó)學(xué)生在使用介詞時(shí),典型錯(cuò)誤大約有下面幾點(diǎn):
1. 受漢語(yǔ)的影響：
我們努力學(xué)習(xí)，為了以后能為人民服務(wù)。
We are studying hard so that we can serve for the people in future. (錯(cuò))
你必須面對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)。
You must face to reality. (錯(cuò)）
無(wú)論什么事情都逃不了他的眼睛。
Nothing can escape from his eyes. (錯(cuò)）
以上三句中的介詞都應(yīng)去掉。
就我的意見(jiàn)而言，他是對(duì)的。
According to my opinion，he is right.（錯(cuò)）
應(yīng)為：In my opinion, he is right.
他坐在陽(yáng)光下。
He was sitting under the sun. (錯(cuò)）
應(yīng)為：He was sitting in the sun.

2. 分不清及物與不及物：
有人敲門(mén)。
Someone is knocking the door. (錯(cuò)）
