4. 表示虛擬、條件、假設(shè)
可譯為“要”、“將要”、“會”、“就會”等，或靈活翻譯。如：

如果激光束不那么強烈，它就不能熔化金屬。
* Without gravity there would be no air and no sound of any kind.
如果沒有重力，就不會有空氣和任何聲音。
