二、同位語(yǔ)
譯入括號(hào)的同位語(yǔ)大多系非限制性同位語(yǔ)。
Gasoline fires should be smothered with sand or with chemicals of some kind,such as those used in some fire extinguishers.
汽油著火應(yīng)當(dāng)用沙子或某種化學(xué)藥品（如某些滅火器中使用的化學(xué)藥品）來(lái)?yè)錅纭?/p>
The biosphere, the sphere of life, is probably not so familiar to us as the three physical zones.
我們對(duì)生物圈（即生命圈）可能不像對(duì)前三個(gè)自然帶那樣熟悉。
有時(shí)，除同位語(yǔ)外，尚含其他成分。如：
I remember going to the British Museum one day to read up the treatment for some slight ailment of which I had a touch—hay fever, I fancy it was.
記得有一天我去大英博物館，專(zhuān)門(mén)去查閱我曾患的小毛?。ㄎ蚁胧强莶莶。┑闹委煼椒ā?/p>
三、狀語(yǔ)
狀語(yǔ)從句（可以是條件、讓步、方式及時(shí)間等狀語(yǔ)從句）
On some days the air contains almost, if not quite, as much water vapour as it can hold.
有時(shí)候，空氣含有差不多（如果不是全部的話(huà)）它所能容納的那么多水蒸汽。（也有將這種狀語(yǔ)稱(chēng)作插人語(yǔ)的）
Vehicles are usually driven through the agency of the friction between the wheel and the fixed surface,be it rail or road.
車(chē)輛通常是通過(guò)輪子和固定表面（不論是鐵軌還是公路）之間的摩擦作用而行駛的。

四、插入語(yǔ)
1.前后有破折號(hào)的插入語(yǔ)

就連最簡(jiǎn)單的手術(shù)（切除一個(gè)手指關(guān)節(jié)，刺破一個(gè)膿瘡）結(jié)果也可能是致命的。
2. 前后有逗號(hào)的插入語(yǔ)
If the tickets are $ 2. 00 each, you could make a table, as illustrated in Table I, to compare the number of tickets sold and the
amount of money that should be collected.
如果每張票售價(jià)兩元，你可列一個(gè)表（如表I所示），將售出的票數(shù)和應(yīng)當(dāng)收得的錢(qián)數(shù)相對(duì)照。
但我們要注意的是，過(guò)多地運(yùn)用括號(hào)翻譯也不好。不用括號(hào)能譯得通順的，括號(hào)還是不用為好，因?yàn)樗嗌儆绊懙骄渥拥耐槨Ｍ瑫r(shí)我們應(yīng)當(dāng)看到，括號(hào)翻譯多用于句子的修飾、附加及補(bǔ)充成分，而基本成分（即主語(yǔ)、謂語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)和表語(yǔ)等）一般不用括號(hào)。
