7、“水漲船高”，按照成語字典，一般應(yīng)譯為。
Like a boat going up with the rising tide.或 When the river rises, the boat goes up. 但有一種意思是指在裁軍問題上，兩個(gè)超級(jí)大國展開軍備競(jìng)賽，你追我趕，“水漲船高”。
There is a constant rise of the level of armaments of the two superpowers with each trying to outdo the other (or with each trying to gain oneupmanship ove the other).
8、這是我們應(yīng)該做的。
It is our pleasure.
It is our duty.
這比譯成“This is what we should do”更符合口語。
9、不能向中國人民交代。
It would be difficult for us to (give an) account for it to the Chinese people.
We wiil not be able to justify ourselves to the Chinese people.
We can't present the case to the Chinese people.
We can't face our own people.
10、不信邪。
Unafraid of sinister forces.
We are not scared by evil forces.
We are not to be scared.
11、天塌不下來。
That won't be the end of the world.
The sky won't fall.
除了上述問題之外，還有作筆記的問題。政治會(huì)談的口譯與一般口譯不同，為求準(zhǔn)確完整起見，長(zhǎng)篇的連續(xù)翻譯(consecutive interpretation)完全靠記憶是不可能的，必須求助于筆記。有時(shí)在宴會(huì)過程中，賓主在席間也可能談起重要的政治問題。為了事后能準(zhǔn)確完整地追記下來，在某些情況下（除非對(duì)方提出反對(duì)），不妨也可拿出筆記本來記一些關(guān)鍵的要點(diǎn)。至于口譯時(shí)如何作好筆記，那是一門專門技術(shù)，這里就不再贅述了。
