對偶及倒裝

英漢對偶相似，把兩個字數(shù)相同或相近、結構相同或相似、意義相關或相反的詞語和從句對稱地排列在一起，用以表示兩者對比或對照的關系。英語的倒裝是指句子釆用倒裝結構，其目的往往是為了強調(diào)、平衡、描繪或是調(diào)和韻律。它是與漢語辭格倒裝相對應的辭格，漢譯時多用順陳結構來表達。
對偶舉例
例 1 Man proposes, God disposes.
謀事在人，成事在天。
例 2 In for a penny, in for a pound.
ー不做，二不休。
例 3 Self do, self have.
自作自受。
例 4 The smaller the mind is, the greater the conceit is.
心地愈狹，則愈自大。
例 5 The more difficult the task is, the happier we'll be.
任務越艱巨，我們越高興。
例 6 The greater the height is, ihe less air there is.
高度越高，那里的空氣就越少。
例 7 The more serious the drought is, the harder we'll work.
天大旱，人大干。
例 8 The more we do for the people, the happier we'll be.
為人民做的事情越多，我們就越感幸福。
倒裝舉例
例9 Up went the balloon into the cloudless sky.
氣球騰空而起，極入萬里無云的藍天。
