(二）分譯法

先分析一下句子的結(jié)構(gòu)，接著譯出主句，再譯從屬句或分詞短語。在英文長句中，主句只有ー個，但從屬句或修飾短語可能有多個，先弄清楚它們之間的修飾關(guān)系，先譯主句，然后再譯從句或短語。 這樣不易出錯。如：

例 3 A spirited discussion springs up between a young girl who insists that women have outgrown the jumping-on-the chair-at-the- sight-of-a-mouse era and a colonel who says that they haven't.
